Virtual Exhibition

Urban ecosystems and their rural environment are under increasing pressure due to formal and informal urbanization, conversion of open spaces, loss of ecological connectivity and climate change, among other factors. This can affect natural habitats and endanger human health and well-being, as well as biodiversity.

While the interconnection of urban-rural areas presents opportunities for development and cooperation, their linkages also require integrated solutions. In this context, nature-based solutions (NBS) have great value, through the restoration and protection of local ecosystems. Through ecological corridors, river restoration or agroforestry, NBS can strengthen urban-rural linkages to increase resilience to climate change, benefit the environment and support the economy.

We invite you to discover, through this virtual exhibition, different practices and initiatives of cities in the European Union and Latin America linked to the “Cities Talk Nature” community.
