Development Stage Summary:

The Innovation Hub is currently open for review!

During 2021, we have been working on developing the Innovation Hub as an initial prototype - and now it's time to review work to date, identify gaps and make suggestions for improvements and new features.

Currently, the main sections of the Hub area:

  • News: a place for promoting events, sharing news about project activities and also relevant stories from the wider nature-based solutions community.
  • Cities: our city group sections, where City Focal Points and partners can keep local stakeholders informed about the INTERLACE project, and also where cities can share blog posts, news and stories with other cities. Are you a CFP member? If so, what other features might be useful for your city group page? For example: would you like a newsletter facility for sending email updates to your stakeholders (Kraków Metropolis team have this already!); or perhaps an interactive map showing the locations you are considering for projects, or enabling stakeholders to tell about places that are important to them for nature? Would you like your own city-focussed events calendar; or perhaps to include a social media feed on your page - e.g. displaying Twitter posts tagged to @INTERLACE_NBS? If you need it, we can probably build it :)
  • Events: this is where we'd like partners to share information about any events they are organising for the INTERLACE project - i.e. events that are open to stakeholders, not just project partners. We can also use this section to advertise other relevant not from INTERLACE, but still of interest to our community. This section is currently empty... let's change that!
  • Case Studies: this is where we will share information about the specific projects in each city, once those projects are completed. At the moment, the case studies we see here are from the Oppla platform, but in time we will replace them only with projects from INTERLACE (and perhaps also our sister project, CONEXUS). We can also share case studies from other projects you are involved with, providing they are relevant to nature-based solutions. Would you like to add some case studies? Let us know...
  • Resources: this is where we will share the outputs of the INTERLACE - our 'products' - once they become available later in the project. At the moment, the products you see here are all from the Oppla platform. But we can also add products from other projects you are working on - for example, documents, datasets, presentations, guidance... anything that you think might be usefu to other people worjking on nature-based solutions. Have something you'd like to share and promote on the Hub? If so, just get in touch.
  • Product Lab: this section of the Hub is designed to support the agile workflow process... it's where you are right now! :) The Product Lab has its own section for testing and feedback, which you can find here.
Instructions for Stakeholders:

Please explore the Hub and famliarise yourself with its different sections. In doing so, make a note of what you think works well, what doesn't work so well and what you think is missing.

We'd love to hear about...

  • The user experience: Do you find the Hub easy to use and navigate? Can you find what you are looking for? Is the design attractive... or ugly!? What changes might you suggest for the layout and appearance of the Hub?
  • The main sections: Are the Hub's main sections well-defined? For instance: is it clear what types of information you expect to find in news, cities, events, case studies, resources, product lab? Or do we need to better exlain the purpose of these sections? Do you think some types of information are missing; if so what new sections should we include?
  • Features and functionality: During 2022, we'd like to develop some new interactive features on the Hub. What new things would you like to see? For example: these might be features that you've seen on other wesbites, which you found useful. Shares your ideas and ideally, links to any examples that we can learn from.
  • Links and networks: We'd like to link the Hub with other knowledge platforms and networks related to nature-based solutions and urban ecosystem restoration. What platforms and networks do you think we should be in contact with? These can be at local, national or even global scale.

How to provide your feedback...

You don't need to answer all of the questions above. And you might like to provide feedback on something we have mentioned. So please be assured that all comments and ideas are very welcome... and criticisms too! (so please be 100% honest and open in your feedback, we'd really appreciate it).

You can respond by:

We'll be closing the current feedback stage at the end of February.

For reference, we have included copies of the following document (it's not essential to read these, only if you are super-interested!):

  • Layout currently used for our city group e-mail newsletter (example is from Kraków Metropolis)
  • Hub homepage template
  • Development brief used to guide the Hub prototype

Hi Oppla team,

Sandra and I took a look at the hub today. You can find our feedback here. Please let us know in case anything is unclear!

We are happy to follow up on this in a quick meeting, if needed!
