The NetworkNature Task Force 4 (Communicators) is pleased to provide you with a summary of upcoming events and opportunities announced by Horizon 2020/Europe projects and select Missions. This Task Force is responsible for synergising and enhancing communication approaches and messages across Nature-based Solutions (NbS) projects. Project Updates

  • September is a NetworkNature event trifecta in Brussels, Belgium! Sign up for the NetworkNature Annual Event September 16 2025! September 15 we will also host a policy event (stay tuned) and our annual TF meeting will take place on September 17.
  • Urban Nature Plans plus (UNP+) has finalised a new policy brief: “Urban Nature Restoration: National-level imperatives under the Nature Restoration Regulation”. Read the full brief here!
  • Are you involved in spatial planning? Are you interested in the relationship between soils and planning and design? Do you want to help shape the future of soil health? SPADES wants to hear from you. This survey aims to collect inputs from the planning communities, notably planners and municipalities.
  • Cities across Europe are facing increasing threats from natural hazards such as floods, heatwaves, storms, and wildfires, but adaptation starts with understanding. This series of Quick Guides, developed by the REGILIENCE, IMPETUS, and TransformAr projects, provides local and regional authorities with clear, actionable insights on how to prepare, respond, and build resilience.
  • NBS EduWORLD project is ending this week, leaving behind a great wealth of resources. For example, you can check out the new Youth Inclusion Toolkit. Check out the full collection of resources.

  • Beyond SUPERB: The Future of Forest Restoration in Europe
    Date: 8-9 September; Location: Leuven, Belgium
    Limited spots available. Participants will have the chance to engage in expert discussions on upscaling effective restoration with policymakers working on NRPs, EC actors, large-scale restoration network representatives, other high level policy actors, and leading academics in the field.   • VII EuroSoil 2025
    Date: 8-12 September 2025; Location: Seville, Spain
    The EUROSOIL is the official meeting of the European Confederation of Soil Science Societies (ECSSS). This is the preliminary list of general topics for EUROSOIL 2025. Additionally, depending on the submitted contributions, specific sessions will be arranged under each broad topic or theme. The organisers will also consider proposals (sessions or workshops) from other organisations and sectors. Register here.
  • NetworkNature Science-Policy Dialogue
    Date: 15 September 2025; Location: Brussels, Belgium
    This dialogue will bring together economic policymakers, finance institutions, businesses and EC funded projects to discuss the challenges and opportunities for scaling up finance from both public and private finance through policy. It will be open to the public. More info coming soon!
  • NetworkNature Annual Event
    Date: 16 September 2025; Location: Brussels, Belgium
    The 2025 edition of the NetworkNature Annual Event, titled “Choose Nature,” will focus on bridging biodiversity and the economy in a time of pressing global challenges, with Nature-based Solutions at the core. The event will bring together voices from across the public and private sectors to share insights, explore initiatives, and present case studies that connect nature with innovation, finance, and business.   • CEN Workshop on Nature-Based Insurance and Investment Solutions
    Date: 18 September 2025; Location: online
    A new CEN Workshop is being established to build upon the innovative outcomes of the NATURANCE project, organized by UNI – Italian Standards Body. The initiative focuses on nature-based insurance and investment solutions (NBIIS), which integrate ecosystem services into financial instruments, enhancing disaster risk reduction, environmental and social benefits, and economic viability to foster resilient and transparent green finance. Interested participants are invited to sign up for the kick-off meeting, where more information will be shared about how to participate in the process.
  • Daring Cities 2025: Cities Shaping Fit-for-Purpose Environmental Plans
    Date: 24 September 2025; Location: Online
    We will dive into how cities around the world are aligning with national environmental plans in order to meet ambitious biodiversity and climate targets and foster community wellbeing.
  • Computational Methods in Science Communication Research – Opportunities, Challenges, and Current Applications
    Date: 25 September 2025; Location: Landau in der Pfalz, Germany
    The SCOPE (Societal COmmunication in times of PErmacrisis, https://rptu.de/s/scopeLD) potential area at RPTU invites researchers to an interdisciplinary conference focused on opportunities and challenges of computational methods in science communication research.

  • SUITMA 13
    Date: 5-9 October 2025; Location: Pisa, Italy
    The 13th conference of SUITMA (Soils of Urban, Industrial, Traffic, Mining and Military Areas) will focus on “SUITMA from a One Health Perspective”. The event will address SUITMAs as pollutant sinks and sources, tools for soil quality and biodiversity, contributors to ecosystem services, and future challenges including emerging contaminants and war-related pollution.   • LAND4CLIMATE Mid-term Forum
    Date: 6 October 2025; Location: RWTH Aachen University, Aachen, Germany
    Join us at the LAND4CLIMATE Mid-Term Forum to explore how nature-based solutions (NbS) can be scaled across Europe. The event brings together experts, policymakers, and practitioners for a day of keynotes, policy roundtables, and hands-on exchanges. Discover insights from front-running regions and connect with the NBS4EU community. Sister projects will also have opportunities to contribute and showcase their work. More details will follow soon.   • Forum on Green Finance and Investment 2025
    Date: 7-8 October 2025; Location: Paris, France
    This year’s Forum will offer a space for open dialogue and knowledge sharing on the latest developments, addressing current challenges and exploring practical solutions to transform ambition into action during this pivotal decade. The agenda is currently being prepared, with further details and logistics to be shared in the coming months.
  • Berlin Urban Nature Pact Annual Event
    Date: 8-10 October 2025; Location: Berlin, Germany
    The inaugural meeting of the Berlin Urban Nature Pact will gather Pact signatories and prospective signatories to work together to advance urban nature solutions and foster international collaboration. This event is on invitation only.

  • IUCN World Conservation Congress 2025 – Learning Zone Session
    Date: 9 October 2025; Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
    The session "Speedy Learning on NbS Finance: Unlocking Investment in Nature-based Solutions", submitted by NetworkNature, has been accepted for inclusion in the official programme of the IUCN Congress 2025 Forum. It will be featured as an onsite session in the Learning Zone. Nature-based Solutions, with a focus on enabling implementation at scale. Register here.
  • NATURELAB I International Workshop
    Date: 9-10 October 2025; Location: Amsterdam, the Netherlands
    Join the NATURELAB 1st International Workshop! This event will share the project’s most significant findings and will include open discussions and practical experiences in Nature-based Therapies (NBT), meant to embed all actors with real-life experiences that are known to bring new awareness and behavioural changes.   • IUCN World Conservation Congress
    Date: 9-15 October 2025; Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
    Held every four years, the Forum is the world’s largest gathering of nature conservation experts, leaders, and decision-makers. The Congress is structured around three key components: the Forum, the largest knowledge marketplace for conservation and sustainable development; the Exhibition, hosting pavilions, booths and events; and the Members’ Assembly, where key votes shape global conservation and sustainable development policy.   • World Health Summit 2025
    Date: 12-14 October 2025; Location: Berlin, Germany & Online
    The World Health Summit is a leading global forum for health, held annually in Berlin, uniting key actors to drive solutions for better health worldwide. The theme of the 2025 edition is 'Taking Responsibility for Health in a Fragmenting World.’
  • European Week of Regions and Cities
    Date: 13 October 2025; Location: Brussels, Belgium
    The European Week of Regions and Cities is a large annual event where cities and regions come together to highlight their role in driving economic growth, creating jobs, and implementing EU Cohesion Policy. It also emphasises the vital contribution of local and regional authorities for effective European governance.
    Registrations will open mid-July.
  • European Business & Nature Summit 2025
    Date: 23-24 October; Location: Helsinki, Finland
    This summit will gather forward-thinking leaders from the business and finance sectors to discuss how to embed nature and biodiversity into corporate strategies and operations. Stay tuned for more details and registration information. The launch of the forthcoming EC Expert Publication on Transformative Change towards a Nature-Positive Economy, developed under Task Force 3, is included in the official programme. The session will present practical case studies from across Europe to stimulate discussion and showcase concrete business action aligned with nature-positive approaches.
  • Forum mondial de l'Economie Sociale et Solidaire
    Date: 29-31 October; Location: Bordeaux, France
    The Forum will bring together over 4,000 participants from around the world to explore the future of the social and solidarity economy. It features three days of discussions, a day of local discovery tours, and vibrant spaces across the city. With forums, public events, networking, and festive evenings, the event celebrates innovation, cooperation, and community. Register here.

  • Mission Soil Week 2025: Leading the transition towards healthy soils: finance and landscape perspectives
    Date: 5-6 November; Location: Aarhus, Denmark
    The conference is organised by the Danish Ministry of Green Transition, Aarhus University, and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development, under the auspices of the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU.
  • Enterprise Europe Network Annual Conference 2025
    Date: 26-28 November; Location: Aalborg, Denmark
    The conference will be conducted as an on-site event. Only the opening and closing plenary sessions will be web-streamed, accommodating approximately 800 onsite participants. The event will include a variety of session types and networking opportunities. Additionally, matchmaking sessions (online and onsite) will be scheduled throughout the duration of the conference. The title of this year’s conference is: ‘DRIVING INNOVATION, DECARBONISATION AND SECURITY FOR SMES: A STRONGER NETWORK IN ACTION’
