Bogota's climate action plan aims to promote adaptation, management, awareness and mitigation of the effects of climate change, proposing solutions capable of providing multiple environmental, social and economic benefits. The strategic and sectorial nature of the plan includes the need to plan territories to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, which facilitates their transformation into sustainable spaces capable of adapting to climate change, therefore the Bogota Climate Action Plan - Nature-based Solutions (SbN) component, aims at the energy transition mainly in buildings through the generation of mitigation and adaptation measures such as green roofs and facades, It also contemplates the creation of sustainable public spaces and urban facilities, development of national value chains, promotion of the circular economy, urban water management, reduction and recycling of solid waste, as well as the conservation of biodiversity and common goods, applying measures to strengthen the role of ecosystems in the mitigation and absorption of greenhouse gases. In addition, the sustainable management of food systems and forests is proposed, including measures to promote soil conservation, encourage the sustainable use of native forests, and increase urban tree planting in conjunction with the restoration and conservation of wetlands. For the city of Bogotá it is of vital importance to reach agreements and alliances with actors from sectors as diverse as the private sector, civil society and academia, since they can offer knowledge, resources and experiences in the BNS, for which it focuses its efforts on multisectoral articulation processes; planning instruments; mechanisms and financial leverage strategies.
